Working 2.40 firmware in sight!

Some of you may be aware that there was recent problems with the much awaited firmware 2.4 release for the Sony PS3. The problems supposedly consisted of crashing PS3’S and hanging XMB’S, although to save anybody from the possible heart ache, the firmware was pulled from the Playstation store soon after.

Not everyone who downloaded it had problems though and it seemed to be the luck of the draw, so to speak.

Anyhow, there is rumoured to be a working version of the new firmware (2.41) due for release the week beginning 7th July, although what day in particular we do not know.

So hopefully everybody will be able to try out the awesome new trophy feature of the firmware, and of course in-game XMB functionality.

A list of some of our favourite features for the new firmware can be found below:-

  • View, send, receive messages (in-game)
  • Toggle the vibration feature of the controller
  • Register friends
  • Use the system BGM
  • Work the system BGM operation panel
  • Manage all of your downloads
  • Trophy support (yay)
