PS3 more developer friendly?
It finally seems that developers have ‘tamed the beast’, that is the Sony PS3, in that they are finally able to harness it’s true power within. Ps3 fans have been treated to inferior or at least ‘on par’ conversions of titles with the Xbox 360, when it came to a game’s graphics, since the machine was released.
However one developer in particular, has said that the PS3 hardware is a ‘nice fit’, when talking in relation to Ubisoft’s Far Cry 2 game. They say that the ps3, will not be able to match a top spec pc in the game, simply due to the memory constraints available to use on the machine. So super high resolutions are a no no then. Although as with other ports of games that have came over from pc, such as Unreal Tournament 3, these have looked great visually and ran really well.
So if the current standard of ports/conversions are anything to go by, then if and when released, Far Cry 2 should be one heck of a game.
