PS3 sales looking strong.

The Sony CEO Howard Stringer is said to be confident in the new PS3 momentum, which was partly due to the recent success at retail over the holiday period, by all three playstation formats, namely PS2, PS3 and of course PSP. During the christmas period, it is said that each playstation format managed to sell through 1 million units each. This will have a knock on effect, being that the more units sold the more people there are to pass on how great the PS3 really is, and hence more sales etc.

“PS3 has now gone past Xbox on the Christmas market. It’s moving into its own as it gets into higher bandwidth … PS3 is out of the woods and beginning to hold its own,” he said.

Beers all round then, as more sales obviously mean more developer support, and finally more great games for us all to enjoy. Here is looking forward to a great 2008.
