Sony stop European delay rumours
Sony have reacted angrily to suggests that the Playstation 3 will be further delayed in Europe after claims were made that suggested Sony wanted to build up stocks in the US and Japan first.Spanish gaming site Meristation claims that Ken Kutaragi believes that the European PlayStation 3 launch could be later than March 2007, citing the need to quench stock shortages of the PS3 in Japan and North America.
However, Sony has quickly denied the report – a rep telling GamesIndustry.biz that “Any reports of a further delay to the launch of the PS3 in Europe are categorically not true.”
The Sony rep also added: “We are still fully committed to a March 2007 launch date. Ken Kutaragi has not done any media briefings since the Tokyo Game Show, and the story is not true.”
